METCOR/LSI is seeking a Training Specialist to support the delivery of professional skills development workshops as a part of an ongoing enterprise-wide learning solution. This position is full-time, based in Washington, D.C. (requiring both onsite and remote capabilities), and offers an opportunity for long-term growth within an established organization. This position is contingent upon contract award and/or customer funding of the position.

The Training Specialist role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparation for training delivery by engaging in a deep-dive of the materials, collaborating with other team members (including those who authored the materials), practicing independently, and engaging in a dry run(s) with the team to ensure an on-target first time client delivery
  • Deliver workshop-style training in an in-person classroom or virtual environment
    • Training Specialists lead participants through:
      • Hands-on scenario-based activities
      • Team breakouts
      • Group discussions, pulling information from participants to facilitate discussions that are relevant and specific to the organization
      • Sensitive topics and challenging subject matter
    • Workshop topics include, but are not limited to:
      • Communication
      • Creativity & Innovation
      • Diversity & Inclusion
      • Acquisitions
      • Project Management
      • Emotional Intelligence
      • Budgeting
      • Conflict Management
      • Partnerships & Coalitions
  • Conduct peer reviews
  • Research and study to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of topics

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Instructional Design, Training and Development, Education, or Industrial Organizational Psychology
  • 8+ years of experience delivering training to professionals
  • 3+ years of soft-skills training delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the ADDIE process of Instructional Design
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • High degree of adaptability and flexibility
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

All positions require the ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test. U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field such as Instructional Design, Training and Development, Education, Leadership, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or English preferred
  • Related certifications such as CPTD, APTD, Langevin, CCMP, SHRM, Instructional Design, Master Trainer, Adult Learning, Human Resources, Change Management, Project Management, Leadership, Coaching, or other relevant areas are desirable
